Palau Robert exhibition design celebrating “The Year of the Book and Reading” and “The Year of Gastronomy” was the work of Sandra Tarruella Interioristas. The exhibition showcases a selection of cookbooks spanning all epochs, from the medieval period to the present day, influencing and enriching both the culinary and gastronomic culture of Catalonia.

Divided into three significant parts, the exhibition highlights medieval books, works spanning the 18th to the 20th centuries, and contemporary texts. Each section offers a unique insight into the evolution of culinary literature throughout history.

The three thematic rooms, designed by Sandra Tarruella Interioristas, have been conceived with the aim of immersing visitors in a visual and chronological journey through the rich culinary history of Catalonia. In each room, books are presented on different supports, using this choice as a design resource to distinguish the various represented epochs.

This approach not only enriches visitors’ visual experience as they explore the various stages of Catalan gastronomy but also highlights the design studio’s ability to merge functionality with aesthetics, creating environments that tell stories and convey the essence of each culinary literary period represented in the exhibition. The design of the Palau Robert exhibition has been a commission that has led us to explore other areas of work.
