Japanese@22 restaurant interior design was born out of an exploration of the context of Barcelona’s 22@ district. The Tragaluz Group found the opportunity to bring to life a new gastronomic concept: the Japanese@22 restaurant. Located on the ground floor of the Mediapro building, this space is situated in an area undergoing significant transformation with the construction of office buildings, universities, and other public facilities.
The design of the restaurant was based on a detailed observation of the surrounding area, considering the flow of people, business activities, and the profile of potential customers. Additionally, the structure of the venue also played a crucial role in the conception of the project. With a height close to seven meters and elements such as natural concrete walls and ceilings, the existing space provided a distinctive canvas for the final design.
The decision to maintain the full height of the ceiling during the interior design of the Japanese@22 restaurant allowed for the exhibition of the characteristic existing concrete, which, along with the concrete walls, fully preserved the unique personality of the space. This approach highlights the beauty of industrial materials and establishes an authentic connection with the architectural identity of the location.
