Butcher shop Viñals1906 design in the premises of the Illa Diagonal Shopping Center. The fourth generation of the Viñals master butchers has decided to revitalize the passion and family tradition by founding the butcher shops “Viñals 1906”.
Given that this space houses two lines of business, the study of circulation and lighting has been fundamental to avoid operational interferences between both spaces and to make them perceived as an integrated unit.
Firstly, the careful choice of noble materials stands out. Oak wood, basalt stone, and iron, together with the sloping roof, transport visitors to a house in the Cerdaña region, the geographical location of the family’s pastures.
Upon entering the space, visitors are greeted by a take-away display case alongside a 5-meter counter in white macaél, highlighting the product ready for sale or immediate preparation. Adjacent to the counter is the bar, clad with an oak top and a basalt stone front, continuing the aesthetic of the floor.
On the other hand, the strategic layout of the open kitchen, framed by iron porticos, allows diners seated at the bar to observe the process of preparing the dishes.
A crucial aspect in the design of the space was to provide customers with various seating options. Those with more time can enjoy the dining area, consisting of an upholstered bench and tables made of dm wood and calatorao stone, ideal for group gatherings.
Furthermore, for those who prefer a quicker tasting experience, an informal area has been designed with an elongated oak wood table for sharing.
All of this reinforces the brand image and product quality by projecting images of the livestock in the pastures. Additionally, the pillars, clad in iron and mirrors, are used to integrate screens and the waiter’s station, creating an ambiance that skillfully combines tradition and modernity. In conclusion, Viñals1906 butcher shop design presents itself as a harmonious fusion of heritage and gastronomic innovation.
