Panorama Santander restaurant renovation is the second project commissioned by the Sebrango family. After the intervention at the Dear Hotel in Madrid, they trusted our studio to renovate part of the common areas of the Hotel Chiqui, located on Sardinero Beach in Santander.
In the Panorama Restaurant, the bar was placed in the center of the space in the form of an island. This achieved an elegant ensemble thanks to the combination of black stone and walnut wood, with the front covered with ceramic pieces in dark blue.
The surrounding spaces were organized with upholstered benches and striped cushions that complemented wooden tables. Wicker chairs evoke the parasols used by bathers on the beach in the early 19th century.
Warm colors and noble materials were used throughout the renovation of the Panorama restaurant in Santander, such as dark walnut parquet, and painted with a stone color to provide comfort to the space.
On the other hand, to increase the height of the ceiling and conceal the beams, a framework of false beams was designed, marking an asymmetric rhythm and providing visual richness. At the back, a large lattice of walnut wood slats was interspersed with pieces lacquered in earth tones and blues, functioning as a filter to the access to the hotel’s event rooms and allowing the reception to be seen from the restaurant.
At the hotel reception, the intervention was more superficial. A wooden fireplace was designed as the central element with two large bookcases that wrap around the set of sofas and armchairs.
Finally, in the multipurpose rooms, the walls were covered with wainscoting of dark wood slats with rounded edges, combined with suspended ceilings of thin iron structures to conceal the ceiling installations.
