Hotel Casa Cacao design was commissioned by Jordi Roca. The chef, with his passion for cocoa, decided to embark on a new creative process and open a boutique hotel in Girona, resulting in Casa Cacao.
On one hand, the project includes a visible workshop where visitors can witness the entire chocolate-making process, from the arrival of cocoa sacks to the wrapping of bonbons, bars, or monas. Additionally, the boutique hotel will feature 15 rooms and will be located in a renowned building in Girona, the former 1960s clinic “La Esperanza,” situated in Catalunya Square.
Given the location and age of the building, along with the design of a chocolate factory, the interior design of Hotel Casa Cacao draws inspiration from confectionery and chocolate shops of the era for its aesthetics, materials, and color palette of packaging, all reinterpreted in a contemporary manner and adapted to the dual project.
The ground floor houses the workshop, the hotel entrance, a chocolate shop, and a room for finishing and packaging the product. The hotel’s design aims to be consistent with Celler de Can Roca and the boutique concept of the proposal. Therefore, noble materials, high-quality finishes, and a subtle and elegant aesthetic that harmonizes with the original period and contemporaneity have been selected. Additionally, classic designer furniture and pieces specially designed for the project have been used.
Finally, on the top floor, there is a terrace, offering guests the opportunity to enjoy wonderful views of the city while having breakfast.
