Barceloneta restaurant interior design was commissioned by the Olivé Group. Barceloneta has been one of the group’s flagship restaurants since it opened its doors in 1996, and it has undergone a successful renovation that maintains its maritime essence and the cozy atmosphere that has characterized it.
It is distributed over three levels: the entrance lobby on the ground floor, the main dining room and terrace on the first floor, and private dining rooms for groups on the second floor. All levels of the restaurant are connected via an imposing main staircase. One of the elements that surprises upon entry is a ceramic mural inspired by nautical flag codes, which adds a colorful and dynamic touch to the beautiful main staircase.
One of the challenges was to modernize the space without sacrificing its original warmth. To achieve this, we opted for updated materials and more contemporary maritime codes, while also seeking to add clarity and luminosity. Additionally, new decorative elements were introduced, such as a collection of vases designed by Carme Balada and four pieces created by the artist Claudia Valsells, which tell the geographical story of Barceloneta through their technique and color.
The final result of the interior design of the Barceloneta restaurant is a renovated, contemporary, bright, and warm space, evoking the aesthetic of a yacht club. This design reflects Barceloneta’s gastronomic quality and positions it as a contemporary venue where maritime tradition intertwines harmoniously with modernity.
