Barcelona, 2014
For this new Project, Tarruella&Trenchs team has renovated fully a 400 Sqm apartment located on Diagonal Avenue, to become the new headquarters – in Spain- of Javier de Benito Institute, a prestigious plastic and cosmetic surgery clinic.
The main premise of our intervention has been to respect, as much as possible, the original layout of the typical apartments found in bourgeois buildings of Barcelona’s Ensanche district. Hence, preserving, as much as possible, the nature and proportion of the spaces, and keeping the existing ceilings, cornices and decorative elements in their original state.
Despite a complex program of consulting rooms and technical spaces, these resources have allowed us to stay away from a preconceived image of a Clinic, hence, avoiding the conventional and betting on a different aesthetic, more domestic in appearance, but where avant-guard contrasts bring elegance and style.
Creative direction: Tarruella Trenchs
Project leader: Carla Manresa
Colaborators: Anabel Cortina, Anna Torndelacreu, Olga Pajares
Surface: 180 m2
Client: Instituto Javier de Benito
