hotels
Barcelona, 2004
When we talk about the project we like to say it is a restaurant with hotel. A place where activities and spaces entwine, and can be used for different functions throughout the day. The hotel was designed so that the customers could feel comfortable at all times but also so that they could get the feeling of the city of Barcelona. It is a place where comfort and luxury get together with urban simplicity.
Since our first interest was to design the ground floor for the restaurant, we made the hotel reception share restaurant activities. There is only one central entrance for all users. This decision benefits both activities, by allowing the usual boredom of hotel vestibules to be compensated by the hustle and bustle found in the restaurants of the group. When we organize interior space we try to join necessities instead of duplicating them.
