Gdansk, 2019
This project was born from the dream of creating a space where guests can enjoy Mediterranean cuisine in an environment that provides the light, color and energy that is typically found in Spain.
To achieve this, we had the collaboration of chef Paco Perez, holder of 5 Michelin stars.
The project is located on the 33rd floor on the tallest skyscraper within a business complex west of the city of Gdansk, in Poland. This elevated position gives full 360º panoramic views of the landscape, allowing to see both the Baltic Sea and the inland woods.
The concept is organized in two different restaurants. The first, Treinta y Tres Restaurant, is more refreshing, relaxed and alive, where a large central bar welcomes guests and energizes the entire room. The second, Arco, with a large kitchen facing diners, is a more elegant gastronomic restaurant.
Both restaurants share a symbolic element: the Arch. This element was essential to appear in the project because it perfectly defined our client’s vision of the Mediterranean heritage. The prerequisite of this commission was to achieve bright and cheerful spaces that contrasted with the gray winter days.
The stone from Mallorca, placed on all the floorings, gives continuity to both dining rooms. We also introduced large murals of handmade glazed tile. The use of natural wood on the ceilings brings the desired warmth to the space. In the Arco Restaurant, the traditional vault made of rasilla – ceramic tiles – has been reinterpreted, but with partially hand painted wood pieces that are inspired by fresco paintings.
The whole has a contemporary, timeless, natural, and elegant vision, and at the same time, it has some elements that surprises guests and invites them to come back.
