Rhin Garden is the name of a luxury boutique hotel located at Avenida de Los Castros, numbers 17-19, in the picturesque Playa del Sardinero, Santander. This elegantly renovated building features a total of 26 rooms and communal areas, offering a true oasis of tranquility, complete with a stunning garden and swimming pool.
Architecture, interior design, and landscaping intertwine seamlessly in this stately property, characterized by its white façade, dark woodwork, and zinc roof, creating a style that is both classic and urban, yet distinctly contemporary.
The execution of the communal areas, reception, café, and guest rooms has been carried out at the studio, with Blanca Comin and Javier Ubago as the project leads, who have infused each space with their unique vision. Upon entering the hall, guests are greeted by a striking painting by Carla Tarruella in a deep deer green, setting the tone for the reception and lounge area, designed to evoke the warmth of a home. Adorned with a Nani Marquina rug, a linen sofa inspired by the 1950s, and a silk-backed cabinet, all in soothing earthy tones, the space exudes comfort and meticulous attention to detail.
Inside, neutral tones dominate, complemented by exposed wooden beams and walnut furnishings. The carefully selected timeless upholstery and strategically placed mirrors reflect the garden, emphasizing the significance of outdoor views while creating a warm, inviting atmosphere.
Additionally, a bar area with accessible shelving has been designed to adapt to various moments throughout the day; it serves as a buffet for breakfast and transforms into a cocktail bar in the evening, perfect for unwinding.
The garden, featuring concrete slab flooring, is enriched with abundant native vegetation that blurs the pathways. Furnished with Kettal pieces that harmoniously blend different shades and materials, the environment is inviting and cohesive.
Here, guests can enjoy a range of activities: dining al fresco, relaxing in a chill-out zone with a drink, or lounging on sunbeds by the pool. The lush vegetation cleverly delineates various spaces, creating distinct areas tailored for specific uses.
The rooms are warm and inviting, boasting custom-designed furnishings by the studio of Sandra Tarruella Interioristas. Highlighting the concept of the garden, stunning photographs by Elena López Lamadrid provide a visual and thematic connection to the outdoor environment.
This project has been developed in collaboration with architect Javier de Diego and landscape designer David Añibarro.
