The Grand Central hotel is based on the idea of creating a timeless hotel, where some existing classic elements, of the original structure of the building, were blended with new ones to bring a cosmopolitan and modern flair.
The entrance hall keeps its original appearance, with ornamentation, pavements, lighting and the main staircase. All the elements are arranged respecting the existing character, except for some large wooden frames that are floating on the existing walls, and on one side allowing to connect visually the library to the lobby, and the other side with a mirror that doubles the effect to maintain a symmetrical order.
In contrast, in the lounges area, the space acquires a more modern style, with plays of contrasts among matte and glossy materials, and light and dark colors. However always keeping simple lines, and with balanced shapes, textures and colors.
A criterion that was kept throughout the Project development, both in the restaurant and rooms, to enable guests to feel in a cozy, yet elegant space.
