Madrid, 2018
The new Rocambolesc ice cream shop is located in the well-known San Miguel market in Madrid.
The challenge was to adapt the project to strict market regulations, while keeping the brand image and maintaining its own character. Even though it has been the smallest store adaptation we have done so far, it allowed us to multiply the counters, since it is a full front-facing store with a large backdrop.
A main constraint was the obligation to keep the white marble counter front at 70 centimeters high, a height used in all the market stalls. The counter front was resolved by integrating a new element to the toppings’ counter, the counter adapts to the marble conuter fornt, and resolving the extra modules with new shapes and added colors. The design follows the aesthetics of the previous store completed, and inspired by the Bauhaus theater, introducing pure geometric shapes and colors that make the furniture pieces stand out, and as a way to continue evolving the brand´s aesthetics.
