La Tienda de Pescaderias Coruñesas
stores
Madrid, 2015

The aim of the remodeling project of Pescaderías Coruñesas’ Fish Shop, in Madrid, was to give a more current and timeless image to the shop, and recovering the essence of traditional fish shops by using some selected materials such as: glazed pottery, wicker, white marble and wood.

On the counter, we recovered the image of traditional fish shops by using trays of different sizes that are laid on a white marble surface.

We hid the front side of the seafood display with a volume coated in micro cement and we ensured the correct lighting on the product with the use of some small lamps having a seaside inspiration.

The new counters for smoked products and sales create a set of volumes finished in reclaimed pine slats and white marble. On the Wall behind, old family pictures are hung, as well as a shelving system to display canned products.

We managed to illuminate the interior of the shop by lightening the tones of the finishes and providing a general warm lighting ambience that is filtered through the ceiling panels.

Finally, on the  facade, we  recovered the aesthetics of traditional shops by placing metal window frames, having a vertical proportion on the shop front, and where  the shop sign was we painted directly on it.
