Our client commissioned Sandra Tarruella Interioristas to carry out the Interior Design Project for his new home designed by BCA Arquitectura. It is a newly built house with modern architecture, located in a village in the Baix Empordà area.
We designed a rustic interior, aligned with the privileged surroundings that the house enjoys.
To provide coziness to the space, traditional finishes have been used such as natural stone, lime paint and continuous floorings in light tones, as well as linen and other natural fiber fabrics.
We laid out the rooms in a way to adapt them to the existing architectural volume.
Upon entering the house, a large mirror welcomes visitors, providing light and visually widening the entrance. It also serves to hide the wardrobe located behind the mirror.
For our client, one of the most important areas of the house is the kitchen; a meeting point where things “happen”, for this reason, we located it in the central space of the house. It has a large kitchen island, where, in addition to preparing food, it becomes a space to chat and socialize.
Adjacent to the kitchen is the living room, having a high ceiling made of wooden beams. Both the dining room table and chairs are made of natural oak wood.
In the living room, we designed rustic furniture pieces having big proportions and character. We also chose some Italian design furniture pieces that provide a touch of modernity to the space, and they are facing towards the fireplace and the garden, where the porch acts as an outdoor extension of the indoor living room.
The porch is covered with a semi-transparent pergola made with handcrafted fibers that provide a magical play of light and shadow inside. Under this cover there is a large cream marble table for summer dining, and a sofa area. Adjacent to the living room is the office and TV room.
On the other wing of the house, is the night area, where three suites have been designed maintaining the color palette and natural materials of the entire project.
For us, It was a pleasure to have been able to participate in this wonderful project.
