The new Eleven Bcn cocktail bar is located on the pool deck of the NH Collection Gran Hotel Calderón, which stands out for its panoramic views of the city of Barcelona.
This emblematic building was designed and built during the 70’s.
During the 70s, in Barcelona, a cultural movement named “La Gauche Divine” emerged. The reinterpretation of aesthetics, the social context, and the contemporary spaces of that period have inspired us to design this new commission, a fun cocktail bar that is open all day.
As a remarkable point of the project, we have placed artworks by Leopoldo Pomés and Xavier Miserachs.
The bar is placed as the central core of the space, and is connected to the outside through large windows.
The cocktail bar adapts well to both daytime activity and nighttime atmosphere. The elements that allow us to achieve this dualities are the greenish-blue tone that gives a fresh, yet elegant, appearance, the dark oak laminated wood floor, the detail work applied on the ceiling, and the spotlights at night counteract the presence of natural light during the daytime.
The furniture layout seeks to break the linearity of the space and create different corners. The furniture, mostly custom-made, is characterized by straight lines, rational forms, noble materials with shiny touches, and a low height to reinforce the lounge concept.
The restroom stands out for its visual impact. A mirror is used as the main cladding material, and round windows bring closer the exterior perspective.
On the exterior, magnificent views of Barcelona have been enhanced. The interior design proposal works with neutral colors, highlights vegetation and uses comfortable and versatile furniture pieces. During the day, there is an area of sun loungers, which change their position at dusk to create pleasant little corners, where guests can enjoy a cocktail and contemplate the city lights.
