restaurants
Barcelona, 2012
This project arises from the need of our client, Carlos Abellan, to create a more dynamic space inside the restaurant. A place meant to serve creative tapas at the bar.
This is why we decided to remove one module of the VIP area, that is separated by wooden slats, that form the distribution of the dining space, and placed the new bar in front of the restaurant’s entrance, so that this element and the exposed products greet and welcome guests.
Upon entering the restaurant, guests find this big counter, where the colors of tomatoes, hams, hanging sausages, the Berkel ham slicer, the large chilled tray with seafood, cans and bottles, play with the natural elements of the bar made in oak wood, concrete and marble, and that helps recreate the idea of a grocery shop.
Guests can, therefore, sit comfortably on stools with backrests around the bar, besides feeling relaxed, and surrounded by a warm ambience that allows them to enjoy the food in a more informal setting.
The ceiling on the bar differs with the rest of the restaurant. It is made of modules of wooden slats and a large blackboard (hanging on the wall) serves as support for the restaurant’s communication and as an advertising feature for the sponsoring Brand.
