Sitges, 2022
The new Sabàtic Hotel in Sitges, which was commissioned by the Massot family, owners of the Vertix company, and operated by the AC and Marriot hotel chains, had to breathe a holiday aesthetic, yet not too summery, since the urban character was wanted to be enhanced, given the location and the use of the hotel throughout the year.
That is why we were inspired by a European vacation aesthetic, where the atmosphere transmits calmness, light and sophistication.
For the rooms, we wanted to transmit a warm and fresh aesthetic, by applying a sand color finish on the walls, and applying wood on the floors, walls, and ceilings, to create the dining space, where the kitchen counter is integrated and was completely changed. Both the sink and the vitroceramic cooktop are integrated under wooden trays, so if they are not being used, they disappear from the room, allowing the counter to become part of the entrance as a furniture piece. Also, the fridge and the hood are integrated in this element.
The bathrooms were resolved using a stoneware tile by Florim, that looks like a bush hammered stone, which was useful to create a continuous finish on the walls, floor and even the sink.
The furniture combines wood, natural fabrics and black accents, all to reflect a fresh, current, holiday aesthetic, yet with an urban touch.
On the walls of the rooms, we have incorporated wooden frames with a handmade paper work done by the Museu Molí Paperer company, forming a set of volumes that conveys calmness, tradition and quality.
The main room is highlighted by a large painting with different levels that adds color to the room, and where the tone of the painting’s glossy lacquer varies depending on the floor the visitor is at.
